Personal Coaching

What do you really want out of life?

Our lives are so busy that it can be difficult to find time to reflect on what is truly important. Working with a personal coach can create the space necessary to examine your life and develop a plan to make it more successful and fulfilling.

In the business world, one of the keys to success is having a deep understanding of a business' purpose, a clearly articulated vision for its future and a detailed plan for achieving results. However, although we can see the need for this type of strategic planning at work, we often fail to see its importance in our personal lives. Without a clear understanding of our values and deepest desires, we end up struggling to find time for all of our commitments, experiencing a lack of meaning from our daily activities and dreaming about 'some day' when we can begin to work towards our life's dreams.

A coach can help

A coach can facilitate an understanding of what is important in your life and partner with you to create a plan to live more purposefully and achieve your goals.

Although each person has a unique set of goals and dreams, some of the most common reasons people work with a coach include:

  • Personal CoachingFinding a fulfilling career
  • Balancing work and family demands
  • Reclaiming a sense of creativity
  • Attaining economic and spiritual abundance
  • Achieving physical health goals
  • Living a life of purpose
  • Starting a successful business
  • Developing more meaningful relationships
  • Accomplishing educational or professional development goals
  • Reaching out of the 'comfort zone' to try new challenges

How does coaching work?

Coaching is a collaborative process in which the coach assists the client to discover new information about him/herself. However, coaches do not provide answers. Instead, they partner with clients to help them develop new awareness and skills and to integrate this learning into their lives and businesses.

I work with clients mostly on the telephone - this is called telecoaching. Typically, coaching calls will consist of three 45-minute calls per month at prescheduled times. Clients are welcome to meet with me in person at my home office, but most people find the telephone to be more efficient and practical.

What to expect

As your coach, you can expect me to:

Be refreshingly honest. One of the most valuable aspects of the coaching relationship is the straightforward nature of the conversation. Speaking the truth can help clients to see things they have been unable or unwilling to see. There is no room for anything less than absolute honesty in a coaching relationship.

Give you unconditional support. My role as your coach is to support you and not to judge you in any way. No matter what happens during our call, you can expect me to say only those things that further your life and your goals. While I will always be honest with you, I will speak only in a constructive manner.

Make big requests of you. My requests will be for you to take action beyond what you would normally ask of yourself. However, I will only make requests of you for which I honestly believe you are ready. Amazing results often happen when clients accept a request to stretch beyond their perceived limits.

Come to the edge, he said.

They said: We are afraid.

Come to the edge, he said.

They came.

He pushed them……and they flew.
